Food safety is one of the top priorities at J.C. Watson. Along with providing high quality, consistent products, we believe it is our responsibility to provide sustainable, safe products to our customers. That’s why we’ve been a leader in the industry’s food safety and security programs. Our comprehensive approach begins the moment the seed is put in the ground and continues until the onion is shipped.

This program is facilitated by the USDA Harmonized GAP Program that is supported by our fully trained and certified food safety manager. USDA standards are now parallel with the FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act, and our growers and JC Watson are in full compliance.
We’re committed to ensuring our onions meet food safety guidelines throughout the manufacturing process. This certification is facilitated by the Primus GFS Certified Global Food Safety Initiative — which is accepted in 20 countries and endorsed by more than 7,000 organizations — recognizes that we have a safe supply chain. This is the highest level of global certification we have.
